Equifax
Overview
Equifax was in the process of creating a portal to facilitate the onboarding and management of developers for companies who purchase access to their data APIs. I joined the team initially to try and help get the beta version launched after development had stalled and work as a facilitator between the services team who was handling the development and the marketing team trying to productize it. After a couple months, my role began to evolve though as I uncovered more and started to provide some ideas about how we might improve the technical approach to the application as well as the overall business approach to the product rollout.
I was given the opportunity to present a proposal that included some of these new ideas , and when that proposal was approved by leadership, my responsibilities grew to more than just UX/UI design.

There were two key parts of my proposal. The first included transitioning the existing management software (Drupal) to "headless" and to hire a dedicated front end developer to work directly with me to build a modern JS front end. The second was doing an audit of the existing customer onboarding process to confirm how it actually currently worked and if it would align with the process that was being built in the portal. I proposed hiring a dedicated researcher to work with me to conduct interviews and compile the results.
Over the next few months I worked with the two resources I brought on to complete these tasks. Through the research and interviews. we were able to determine some pitfalls we were able to avoid and at the same time uncovered opportunities to save money by transitioning customers from a legacy system that was previously missed and leverage alignment with other groups modernization efforts within the company.  The overall user experience was also improved greatly through the use of the modern front end and was able to perform in a ways expected of a modern web application.
